Summary: أجريت هذه الدراسة على ١21 مشارًكا، تم تقسيمهم إلى مجموعتين: وتراوحت أعمارهم بين 3 - ١11 شهًرا. تم تجنيد نصف الحاالت من وحدة العناية المركزة لألطفال والنصف اآلخر من جناح األطفال العام، مع الحصول على الموافقة المناسبة من كل أم بعد توضيح مدى فائدة هذه التحقيقات في التشخيص والعالج. تم إجراء االختبارات المعملية بقسم الباثولوجيا السريرية والكيميائية بالقصر العيني. لفحص العالقه بين مستوى الزنك بالدم واالصابه بالالتهاب الرئوى حيث وجد نقص نسبه الزنك لدى الاطفال المصابين بعدوى الجهاز التنفسى السفلى .
