The main objective of this observational study was to know relation between blood grouping and the presence of cleft lip and/or palate in a group of Egyptian population. The secondary objective was to determine the incidence of cleft lip and/or Palate in a group of Egyptian population. The study included 376 cleft lip and\or palate patients (ages ranged from 2 months to 17 years). Patients were collected from Orthodontic department, Faculty of Dentistry, Cairo University, Abu el_Reesh Hosiptal and El_Demerdash Hosiptal .The sample was divided into 4 groups according to their type of cleft.we found that the percentage of blood group A is highest in cleft lip and palate patients , and blood group B was lowest, we concluded that the etiology of cleft lip and / or cleft palate is complex and multifactorial , in which there are statistically significant but unclear relationship
