  • Issued also as CD
Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine - Department of Prosthodontics Summary: Statement of problem: Zirconia reinforced lithium silicate glass-ceramic is considered as a new ceramic material. although, not widely used for the construction of laminate veneer.it would be a promising material regarding the marginal integrity and fracture resistance of laminate veneer. Aim of the study: To evaluate the vertical marginal gap of laminate veneers constructed with two different ceramic materials Materials and method: A total of 16 freshly extracted central incisor were prepared with veneer but-joint design, mounted in epoxy blocks then divided into two equal groups. (n=8) Group (A): Celtra duo, Group (B): E.max CAD. Laminate veneers were scanned with Omnicam designed with biogeneric option and 4.4 CEREC software fabricated by CEREC MC XL milling machine, fired for a short firing cycles, then cemented with Choice 2 resin cement after surface treatment, Measurements were reported after thermocycling. Result: It was found that Celtra duo group recorded higher marginal gap mean value than e.max group mean value and this was statistically significant as indicated by two-way ANOVA test (P=<0.0001< 0.05). Conclusion: Both Celtra duo and e max cad veneers provide clinically acceptable marginal accuracy. Clinical implication: Celtra duo is a promising material to be used for laminate veneers constructions in the esthetic region
