Radiography and ultrasonography are complementary to each other in diagnosis of abdominal affections , although ultrasonography was superior to radiography in diagnosis of some affections as fatty liver , liver cirrhosis , hepatic neoplasm and gall bladder and biliary system diseases as well as splenic masses and splenomegalyIt was also preferable than radiography in diagnosis of pancreatic , adrenal gland , prostatic , lymphatic system and female genital system affectionsMoreover , it was preferable in diagnosis of chronic gastritis , pyloric stenosis , intestinal obstruction as well as chronic nephritis , renal neoplasm and cystitisOn the other hand , radiography was preferable than utrasonography in diagnosis of foreign bodies , chronic constipation , mega colon , cystic calculi , urethral calculi
