Achieving sustainable peace, reconciliation, and justice in the aftermath of armed conflict or mass abuse has always been a goal and a challenge for the international community. African countries emerging from conflict had to deal with the consequences of those mass violations, with varying degrees of success, in order to protect human rights, strengthen the rule of law, achieve justice, prevent violence and move towards sustainable peace. Accordingly, most of the post-conflict countries of the African continent have followed the mechanisms and applications of transitional justice, due to their ability to promote peace and provide the foundations for more flexible patterns of development. Transitional justice refers to how societies respond to serious and grave violations of human rights and humanitarian law, and according to the current popular concept, transitional justice means, “Reparation for collective violations and Identifying ways to address the root causes and structural drivers that lead to violence and repression”. While transitional justice includes criminal accountability, it is based on a broader concept of justice that takes into account a set of victims’ needs and priorities”. Accordingly, the study aims to present the foundations of building transitional justice in Africa and its role in supporting social stability and building peace. The study points to the most important challenges that faced and face a number of countries in the African continent, which emerged from stages CHARacterized by armed conflicts and conflicts. where it left great political, economic, and social effects on the African citizen, while the democratic transition and the establishment of social peace and reconciliation require the implementation of transitional justice . This path also needs to understand and assimilate the local cultures, customs, and social practices of African societies, and include them within the process of implementing transitional justice, which gives it more credibility and applicability. The main question of the study is the feasibility and effectiveness of the applications and practices of transitional justice in achieving peace on
