This thesis presents a novel adaptive aging operator for genetic algorithm was proposed (AdAGA algorithm ) . The main aim of introducing this operator is to maintain diversity in the population and prevent GA from getting stuck at local optimum . AdAGA algorithm was tested on three benchmark optimization functions it was found that it is better than other algorithms as it converges faster than simple genetic algorithm
