The petroleum ether extract of the root was subjected to saponification to give the unsaponifiable matter and the fatty acids methyl esters four isolated compounds were identified as n - docosane hexadecanoie acid (Palmitic acid ) - amyrin and stigmasterol . Investigation of the aqueous fraction of polyamide column of 95% ethy1 alcohol extract of Chrozophore obliqua Vah1, identified 2 compounds 1 - 0- (biopterin 2'-y1)
