The grid is an integrated infrasture for coordinated resource sharing and problem solving in distributed environments. Grid applications often involve large amounts of data and/or computing, and are not easily handled by tody's internet and web infrastrures. The semantic grid is an initiative of the UK EPSRC/DTI core e-science program that aims to integrate and bridge the efforts made in the grid and in the semantic web communities
