In this study, a total of 41 serotypes of Salmonellae were isolated from broiler chicken farms in Damietta governorate. The serotypes were 13 S. Enteritidis (31.7%); 8 S. Infantis (19.5%); 6 S. Kentucky (14.6%); 3 S. Chiredzi (7.3%); 7 S. Typhimurium (17.1%) and 4 S. Tsevie (9.8%). A locally prepared bacterin from the isolated S. Enteritidis strain was examined and compared with a commercial preparation of a probiotic to prevent experimental infection with S. Enteritidis
