This study dealt with the different techniques used for the prediction of critical flashover of H. V. T. L. insulators and introduced new techniques called robust regression for prediction of critical flashover comparison is made between the different techniques to indicate the power of the new suggested tecniques in case of outliers and its superiority in this case
