Hepatic cirrhosis is the end-stage of chronic liver diseases. Liver transplantation has been the most effective treatment for these patients but is critically limited by the shortage of available donor. The transplantation of autologous bone marrow-derived stem cells holds great potential for treating hepatic cirrhosis. Twenty patients with end stage liver disease that underwent autologous mesenchymal stem cells transplantation when infused into the peripheral vein
