The study aimed to give incidence of the most common esophageal lesions of all archival biopsies received in the Pathology Departments of Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University and Theodor Bilharz Research Institute, Giza, Egypt during five years (2004-2008), 210 esophageal specimens obtained. GERD was diagnosed in 54.7% of all esophageal specimens included in this study. Barrent's esophagus was diagnosed in 17.6% of all esophageal speciments included in this study
