The prevalence of obesity has increased worldwide. Chronic kidney disease has been associated with obesity. The development of chronic kidney disese is usually the culminating result of interaction of multiple risk factors including obesity and metabolic syndrome of cardiovascular risk factors. Patients with knee osteoarthritis (OA) are frequently obese and due to the combined effects of obesity and chronic use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs may represent a high risk group for renal disease
