The range of this work included generation and characterization of selected field crop residues and food processing wastes, their chemical and biological pretreatment of and fermentation trails on bio-ethanol generation from sugar cane bagasse using Saccharomyces Cerevisiae NRRLY-2034). Results showed that the highest cellulose and lowest lignin was reached with alkaline per acetic acid and alkaline pretreatment processes
