Chelating agents such as carnosine and DMSA can be used in nuclear medicine and biochemical studies. Carnosine was labelled by using tin chloride in presence of glucose as reducing agent and resultant 99mTc - carnosine showed some tumour selectivity. 99mTc (V) DMSA were prepared in high purity by simple decreasing tin content and its biodistribution showed high tumor selectivity. Also the present study investigated that chelating agents impart strong antioxidant activity through inhibition of metal catalyzed fenton reaction. Studied antioxidant parameters such as SOD, MDA, and reduced glutathione and PCR RFLP biomarkers as extracellular, tissue and genomic model for measuring oxidative stress showed probable higher antioxidant activity of carnosine than DMSA and maximum protection with dual action of both chelating agent
⁹⁹ Tc Carnosine DMSA
