Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Mechanical Design and Production
During the last few decades, the rapidly increasing of using high pressure technology in science and engineering has brought a corresponding need for improved accuracy in pressure measurement over a wide range of standards as well as a challenging methodology for the calibration of the used instruments. The focal point of this thesis is concentrated on the study of the metrological characteristics of 290 MPa oil-operated controlled clearance pressure balance which uses a 3.27 mm nominal diameter piston and cylinder gauge. The gauge is surrounded by a jacket pressure operated through an external cylinder of pressure ranges from 0 to 40 % of system pressure using di-ethyl-hexyl-sebacate as a pressure transmitting fluid
