Acute myeloblastic leukemia (AML) is a clonal disorder characterized by acquisition of somatic mutations in haematopoietic progenitors cells. Defects in DNA repair genes and proteins associated with the regulation of repair are connected to many different human diseases including acute myeloid leukemia. Single nucleotide polymorphisms SNPs in many DNA repair genes revealed to be associated with cytogenetic abnormalities among newly diagnosed AML patients
