Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine - Department of Prosthodontics
Ten patients were selected from the prosthodontic clinic, Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine, Cairo University. They had mandibular kennedy class I with the last remaining teeth were the second premolar bilaterally. All patients will be restored with removable partial denture retained by extracoronal attachments and two splinted crowns. Attachment at one side will be fabricated from metal alloys while other side would be fabricated from non metal material. Bone level surrounding the principle abutment teeth will be measured using digital radiography at periodic intervals of 0 to 3 months 3 to 6 months. The results will then be tabulated and statistically analyzed from the obtained result. It was concluded that when analyzing the percentage change and bone loss by time, it was clear that the metal group showed statistically significant bone loss than no metal group
