The aim of the present work to study the biochemical effects of germanium lactate citrate (Sanumgerman) against ozone toxicity in rats. Total number rats 50 were divided into five equal groups (10 rats each). O₃ treated group showed a highly significant increased activity of alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase especially after 15 days and 42 days. Additionally increased of DNA fragmentation assay. But showed a non-significant decreased of each total protein, albumin and globulin & A/G as compared with control groups. Treatment of germanium either alone or combination with ozone significantly decreased the activity of liver enzymes but non-significant decreased in total protein, albumin and globulin & A/G as compared with negative control groups. Ge & O₃ treated group recorded increased level in all hepatic constituents than in both negative controls. The histopathological analysis in (O₃) confirmed the development of hepatocellular injury by liver tissue distorted degenerated bile duct, inflammatory cells in rats and showed improvement in the pathological state in liver of rats treated with germanium due to the prophylactic effect and treatment by germanium. The present study concluded that (Ge) might have a prophylactic affect which might reduce the toxic effect and oxidative stress resulting due to hepatotoxicity by (O₃)
