Dental practitioners are usually encountered by many questions such as estimation of unknown age of children and if it is better to depend on dental age or chronological age? How accurately does the chronological age reflect the development and accordingly the eruption times of the successive permanent teeth? A thorough knowledge of the degree of dental maturity and the expected sequence of eruption of permanent successors is the corner stone in serial extraction planning and in orthodontic treatement, not to mention in forensic medicine in cases where accurate estimation of chronological age is required. This study was performed on 60 Egyptian children with age range from 7 to 12 years. Sixty digital panoramic radiographs were used in this study
