Diabetes mellitus is a pandemic medical health problem that is a leading cause of premature death, mainly due to cardiovascular causes, and of occurrence of complications that can lead to blindness, amputations , and renal insufficiency. adipocyte fatty acid binding protein is a member of the fatty acid binding protein. serum A-DaBP was associated with increased incidence of insulin resistance, adiposity, and hyperglycemia. Serum A-FABP levels were found to be independently associated with carotid atherosclerosis
