Background: Chronic periodontitis is the most frequently occurring form of periodontitis resulting in inflammation within the teeth supporting tissues, progressive attachment loss and bone loss Interleukin-17 (IL-17) is a T-cell derived cytokine that may play an important role in the initiation or maintenance of the pro-inflammatory response and has recently been found to stimulate osteoclastic resorption. Aim of the study: The purpose of the present study was to determine the level of IL-17 in samples of Gingival Crevicular Fluid (GCF) from chronic periodontitis patients and to compare it with healthy individuals
