In this research, an experimental program has been performed to investigate the flexural behaviour of reinforced concrete beams with different lap splice shapes and lengths. Ten simply supported reinforced concrete beams were tested. The load deflection curves, the crack patterns and the ultimate load of three beams with different lap splice lengths were studied. To study the effect of the use of V- shaped lap splices, six beams were tested. The research involves comparison between the test results and the code provisions
