Since 1970, Egypt try to cope the problems of informal settlements. From these problems the one that took huge place in deforming the visual appearance of Egypt, which is losing of identity. This means the appearance of all informal settlements seems to be alike without any differentiation from any place to another. This thesis focus on finding an applicable solution for this problem. From here came the idea of choosing colour as a new approach to change the overall appearance for these settlements, and give each place its identifying character
