The central aim of this study is to develop the present English for specific purpose (ESP) course at Integrated Thebes Institute (ITI) during the academic year 2014-2015 in Egypt on the basis of needs analysis and interests as well. The participants of the study were 36 freshmen engineering students (27 males and 9 females). The researcher collected data through a needs analysis questionnaire, an interests questionnaire, a semi- structured interview and reading-writing performance test. Data collected from the questionnaires were analyzed quantitatively using the SPSS program. Findings of the study showed that the course developed the students reading and writing abilities according to their technical areas of study. It also engaged the interests of freshmen engineering students who are specialized in civil, architecture or electricity disciplines, as they gained information about their engineering disciplines according to their academic requirements, job fields and sex preferences. Moreover, it helps male and female students to choose a suitable discipline to their interests and gender
