Uniformity of seismic behavior of bridges under real ground motions has been an old yet renewable issue on debate. Many codes formulate how to deal with the bridge uniformity and performance from various points of views. In this study, the criterion of uniformity of response proposed by EC8 denoted as u will be the main point of discussion; also additional performance monitors such as bridge inherent over strength and material utilization efficiency have been established. The study investigated four different bridge categories where the difference among them is the pier-to-deck connection. Furthermore, each scheme consists of four sub-categories with different pier height ratios. This by its turn is the main key point for reviewing the EC8 uniformity criteria. Hence, an enhanced uniformity criterion uz is considered in order to better indicate and clarify the actual behavior of the bridges under investigation
