Modeling of urban transportation noise in Giza city, Egypt / نمذجة انبعاثات الضوضاء الصادرة من المركبات داخل محافظة الجيزة اعتمادا علي المكونات والاحجام المرورية Karim Sayed Abouelala Habib ; Supervised Hozayen Ahmed Hozayen , Dalia Galal Said - Cairo : Karim Sayed Abouelala Habib , 2016 - 59 P. : charts , facsimiles ; 30cm
Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Civil Engineering
The main goal of this research is to study urban noise emitted as a result of transportation activities inside Giza city. Urban transportation noise was modeled by statistical approach in order to present easy models for assessing noise emission and preliminary designs. In addition, a multilayer perceptron neural network was used to model noise to improve the accuracy of predicted levels and present more reliable results. The development of the model was based on diverse input data. As a result, the model is valid to be used widely inside and outside of Giza city. Finally, this research is a step forward toward studying noise emissions in Egypt as it is not sufficiently investigated
