This work offers construction and comparative evaluation of the performance characteristics of conventional carbon paste (I, II, III and IV) and screen printed (V, VI, VII and VIII) electrodes for determination of dodecyltrimethylammonium bromide (DTAB). These electrodes depend mainly on the incorporation of the ionophore of DTAB with 1, 4-bis-(6-mercaptohexyloxy)-benzene (BMHB) and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) or 1, 4- bis-(6-mercaptohexyloxy)-benzene (BMHB) and Ý-cyclodextrine (Ý-CD). The proposed potentiometric method was based on the fabrication of modified BMHB/MWCNTs carbon paste electrodes (BMHB/MWCNTs-CPEs; electrodes I and II) and modified BMHB/Ý-CD carbon paste electrodes (BMHB/Ý-CD-CPEs; electrodes III and IV) and the modified BMHB/MWCNTs screen printed electrodes (BMHB/MWCNTs-SPEs; electrodes V and VI) and modified BMHB/Ý-CD screen printed electrodes (BMHB/Ý- CD-SPEs; electrodes VII and VIII). They showed near Nernestian responses over usable concentration range 7.110⁻⁸-1.010⁻², 4.510⁻⁸-1.010⁻², 1.010⁻⁶-1.010⁻², 110⁻⁶- 1.010⁻²- 2, 5.710⁻⁶- 1.010⁻², 3.8110⁻⁸.010, 4.810⁻⁷-1.010⁻² and 4.810⁻⁷-1.010⁻² mol L⁻¹ with slopes in the range 59.25, 60.09, 54.49, 56.30, 59.48, 60.63, 55.20 and 57.96 mV decade-1 for electrodes I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII and VIII, respectively
