The main goal for this investigation is to study and develop a new medium alloy austenitic structural steel that resembles austenitic stainless steels in room - temperature microstructure and some physical properties and can be used in some similar applicationsThe study comprises a series ofpearlitic hyper eutectoid cast steels of main analysis : 16 - 17 Carbonin hundred , 03 Silicon in hundred , 07 - 24 Manganese in hundred and 02 - 28 Chromium in hundredVanadium was added for refining the grains of the final steel matricesAfter melting and casting the steels were subjected to spherodizing annealing at 790 - 820?C to attain good machinability for preparing the preparation of the test specimens (tensile , hardness , dilatometry and microstructures)
