In this work the ethyl 4,5,6,7-tetrahydrobenzo[b]thiophene-3-carboxylate (1) reacted with phenylisothiocyanate (2) to give the N-phenylthiourea derivative 3.Specialized through the synthesis and cytotoxicity evaluation of new heterocyclic compounds containing nitrogen and/or sulfur with potential biological activities towards some cancer cell lines. Among the synthesized compounds, the thiophene, thiazole, pyrazole, pyridine and pyrimidine derivatives
