Objective:to compare the amount of periimplant defect reduction (VDD and HDD) and buccolingual dimension reduction with and without the placement of Beta Tricalcium Phosphate into the buccalperiimplant defect following implant installation into fresh extraction socket. Materials and methods: 16 implants were placed into 16 patients, 8 implants in the test group (grafted) and 8 implants in the control group (non-grafted). Buccolingual dimension was measured on the preoperative CBCT, while the horizontal and the vertical defect dimension were measured clinically using a UNC periodontal probe following immediate implant placement. After 6 months of healing , a second CBCT was taken for the evaluation buccolingual dimension reduction and the implants were exposed using ''M'' flap technique for direct bone measurements. In the test group, the defects were completely filled while in the control sites, there was variability in the amount of bone fill. Results Regarding the change in the buccolingual dimension, results showed that there was statistically significant difference between groups. The mean buccolingual dimension reduction in the grafted sites was 1 mm ±0.25 (about 11%) compared to 1.94 mm ± 0.37 (22%) in the non-grafted sites. The reduction in the vertical (VDD) and horizontal (HDD) defect dimension was statistically significant in each group between the baseline and the re-entry after 6 months and between groups after 6 months. In the grafted sites, all the defects were completely filled after 6 months (VDD and HDD =0mm) while in the non-grafted sites, the mean VDD was 1.3mm ± 1.2 and the mean HDD was 0.5mm ± 0.6. The percent of VDD reduction in the grafted sites was 100 % compared to 82.6% in the non-grafted sites. While the percent of HDD reduction in the grafted sites was 100% compared to 86.8% in the non-grafted sites
