This study tackles the german political foundations and the activities they run in Egypt, with an interdisciplinary topic, which merges two scopes of examination: international relations and political systems. The first scope of study highlights local circumstances of the host country, 2Egypt,3 which has witnessed major changes on many levels. Particularly after the January uprising, the environment in which the local civil society (CS) operates has changed. Economic, social, and political circumstances have changed drastically that it is no longer viable to overlook the difference. As a part of the country, the CS was also expected to change to cope with the new framework. The change that occurred pinpointed a variation in the effect on CS groupings. In other words, the CS is not one in terms of getting affected by certain circumstances. For example, some organizations flourish in times of economic downfalls. Others tend to be less active, such as political organizations. Foreign organizations are affected by other additional factors (International relations). Given each component (foreign affairs and local circumstances) its relative weight might be challenging, yet most eye-opening. Therefore, the three chapters of this study take such remarks into account and attempt to objectively observe the impact of both factors on foreign organizations German political foundations
