Purpose: This study was undertaken to document the radiological and functional outcome of arthroscopic pullout sutures repair of posterior root tear of the medial meniscus medial meniscus. Methods: From January 2014 to June 2016, 27 patients with posterior root tear of the medial meniscus were treated with arthroscopic pullout suture repair surgery. of these, 25 patients were analyzed, clinical results by use of Lysholm score and international knee documentation committee and MRI were evaluated , both preoperatively and at final follow up. Results: The mean Lysholm score improved in all patients from poor score in 15 patients and fair score in 10 patients preoperatively to good score in 19 patients and excellent score in 6 patients at final follow up. The mean IKDC improved from 43.36±5.35 preoperatively to 81.89±8.48 at final follow up (P0.001 ). MRI showed complete healing in 15 patients and failure in 10 patients, ME was 3 mm in 22 patients and 3 mm in 3 patients preoperatively improved to 13 patients 3 mm and 12 patients 3 mm postoperatively. Conclusions: Arthroscopic pullout suture repair is an effective method with promising short-term clinical results for treating patients with a symptomatic posterior root tear of the medial meniscus that is repairable and associated with degenerated articular cartilage of less than grade III. In addition, no discernable degenerative arthritic changes were found in terms of radiographic features with our limited short-term follow-up
