Ultrasound guided thoracic paravertebral block compared to general anaesthesia in breast cancer surgery. Assessment of the efficacy and safety of real-time ultrasound guided thoracic PVB using levobupivacaine for the anesthetic management of breast cancer patients undergoing surgery in comparison to general anesthesia. In conclusion, based on our study and the outcome of the 60 patients studied, ultrasound guided thoracic paravertebral block with sedation appears to be an effective, reliable and safe form of surgical anesthesia for oncological breast surgery. Moreover, thoracic thoracic paravertebral block is a useful anesthetic technique for patients in which general anesthesia is undesirable or poses comorbidities. In addition, the thoracic thoracic paravertebral block provides better outcome regarding postoperative analgesia, attenuation of stress response, and overall satisfaction of the patient. It can also reduce the postoperative consumption of opioids reduce the incidence of postoperative nausea and vomiting
