Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Archaeology - Department of Conservation

The principle work presented in the thesis was undertaken with a view of studying the effect of conservation treatments on the color strength (K/ S) and color stability of some natural dyes mordanted with citric acid, tannic acid, and chitosan treated paper. The aim of this work is to understand the technique of dyeing paper with natural dyes and their optical properties so that the paper conservators can make better decisions about the colorants selected for conservation treatments of art of works on paper
