This study was performed on thirty six female patients diagnosed as breast cancer. Those patients underwent BCS followed by concurrent radiotherapy. The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of the ratio between the excised tumor volume with the safety margin and that of the entire breast volume on the cosmetic outcome.These patients presented to outpatient clinic at National Cancer Institute, Cairo University for their follow up one-year post surgery. General and local Clinical examination of patients was done. Weight and height were measured and the BMI was calculated. Bilateral mammography was performed in both craniocaudal and mediolateral oblique views. One step was added to the standard procedure which was measuring the craniocaudal compression thickness in the normal breast using a ruler. Immediately before the mammography a standard photograph was taken from a frontal view with both arms beside the patient
