This study was conducted in Allergy Clinic of University Childrens Hospital of Cairo University on 40 asthmatic cases and 40 matched healthy controls. It reached the following: Neutrophil / lymphocyte ratio (NLR) was significantly higher in cases compared to controls. The difference in platelet/lymphocyte ratio (PLR) between cases and controls was not significant. There was a significant direct correlation between NLR and PLR. NLR was not sensitive but was highly specific (a good negative screening test).PLR exhibited weak sensitivity and specificity
