Patients and methods: 100 patients (50 diabetic patients [type 2] &50 non-diabetic patients) suffering from morbid obesity .Laboratory tests to assess glucose homeostasis (FBS, PPBS, HBA1C, Insulin, C-peptide, HOMA-IR) were done pre-operative and 1, 3, 6 months post operative. This study was performed in General Surgery Department at Kasr Al-Aini teaching hospitals from May 2016 to October 2018
