background: Identification and verification of identity is mandatory in a variety of civil and criminal situations. Recently, echocardiography and the electrocardiogram (ECG) had been proposed as novel biometric for this purpose. aim:The aim of the current study is to establish biometric cardiac profile as a possible identifier for age and sex among Egyptian candidates. subjects & methods: The present work is a prospective study involving 250 adult healthy volunteers provided equal sex distribution and age range between 18 & 70 years. The sample was divided into 5 equal groups according to age. Demographic data were collected. Eighteen cardiac parameters were measured (nine from echocardiography and nine from electrocardiography). Body measurements (weight, height, body mass index BMI and body surface area BSA) were taken from each subject to be studied with respect to the corresponding age, sex & cardiac parameters. results: Statistical significance is elicited between nature of occupation and most of the measured cardiac parameters, nature of residence and most of ECG parameters and sex and most of the measured parameters. Discriminant scoring was calculated to identify sex using echocardiography with accuracy (65.6%) and using ECG with accuracy (96.8%) and using both methods with accuracy (97.2%)
