Background: chronic mechanical neck pain is a common problem that can cause pain and decrease range of motion in the cervical region without any specific cause, although there were different types of joint mobilization that have an effect on pain and muscle strength but it still debates which type is more effective. Purpose: this study was conducted to compare the immediate effect of different techniques of cervical mobilization on pain intensity level and shoulder external rotators strength in chronic mechanical neck pain. Subjects: sixty chronic mechanical neck pain patients were recruited and assigned into 4 groups (3studyand one control group). The mean age of the four group A, B, C and D were SD27.6 ± 6.77,27.07 ± 6.42, 25.47 ± 5.13 and 28.8 ± 6.99 years respectively. Methods: Group A, B, C received one type of mobilization (Postero-anteriorAntero-posterior lateral glide) in addition to Ultrasound and the control group D received only ultrasound therapy. Assessment was conducted using Lafayette muscle tester to measure shoulder lateral rotators muscle strength and VAS to measure pain intensity level
