The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of chemotherapy, thermotherapy and cryotherapy treatments to eradicate the banana bunchy top virus (BBTV) from naturally infected banana cv. Grandnan shoot tip explants grown in vitro.Chemotherapy treatments using four different chemical substances (as antiviral), ribavirin was used at 20.0, 40.0 and 60.0 mg/L,jasmonic acid was used at 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0 mg/L,salicylic acid was added at 17.3, 34.5 and 69.0 mg/L,benzoic acid was used at 18.0, 36.0 and 72.0 mg/L. Also antiviral chemicals free-medium was investigated as control medium.Four different combinations of citric and ascorbic acids were investigated 50mg/L citric acid +100mg/ L ascorbic acid,100mg/L citric acid + 200mg/L ascorbic acid, 200mg/L citric acid + 400mg/L ascorbic acid and 400mg/L citric acid + 800mg/L ascorbic acid. In thermotherapy experiments the infected shoot tip explants incubated at 26±2C (control), at 35±2C, 40±2C or 45±2C for four weeks. Also the intermittent thermotherapy on infected shoot tip explants was investigated as the infected shoot tip explants incubated at 26±2C (control), at 35±2C for 16h darkness and transferred to incubated at 26±2 for 8h light,40±2C for 16h darkness and transferred to incubated at 26±2 for 8h light or 45±2Cfor 16h darkness and transferred to incubated at 26±2 for 8h light for four weeks. In cryotherapy experiment infected shoot tip explants were cultured on preculture medium for 48h
