The first part focused on the preparation of some conducting polymers such as (Ơ- m- and p-) polytoluidine, polyanisidine and (Ơ- and p-) polyaminophenol as photo-stabilizers for poly (vinyl chloride) PVC. The different PVC films were exposed to UV irradiation at wavelength 313 nm for 720 h (30 days). The photo-degradation of PVC films were evaluated by measuring the gel wt%. the gel% of PVC films with small doses of conducting polymer stabilizers were lower than PVC blanks after 720 h irradiation. The second part of this study presents an eco-friendly and environmentally acceptable epoxy /polyester /conducting polymers /barium sulphate hybrid composite as a new model for smart highly efficient anticorrosive powder coatings for steel protection. This composite was prepared by the in-situ polymerization of each ortho, meta and para (toluidines and phenylenediamines) monomers in the presence of barium sulphate filler via chemical oxidation polymerization pathway using ammonium persulfate as an initiator. The prepared composites were characterized using spectrophotometric measurements (FTIR, XRD, EDX, SEM), in addition to thermal analysis (DSC & TGA).They were evaluated as corrosion inhibitor in powder coating formulations based on epoxy/polyester resin by mixing with some pigments and fillers. The coated steel panels using the powder coating formulations in absence and in presence of small dose of the BaSO₄/conducting poly (toluidines and phenylenediamines) as corrosion inhibitor composites not exceeding 2% by weight of the total formula of the powder coating were examined in a salt spray cabinet for 1500h with an assessment of the state of the coated steel panels every 500h
