Modification of chemical and physical properties of corn starch using grafting technique / تعديل الخواص الكيميائية والفيزيائية لنشا الذرة باستخدام تقنية التطعيم Zain Elabden Mahmoud Mahmoud ; Supervised Nahed Abdelfattah Abdelghany , Mohamed Samir Abdelaziz Zedan - Cairo : Zain Elabden Mahmoud Mahmoud , 2020 - 141 P. : charts , facsimiles ; 25cm
Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Science- Department of Organic Chemistry
The aim of the present work is to achieve modification of the chemical and physical properties of corn starch via grafting with functionalized molecules as 4- Acrylamidobenzoic Acid, Diallyl dimethyl ammonium chloride, Chitosan nano-particles. Examination the effect of the grafted moieties on the solubility, swell ability, thermal stability and antimicrobial activity of the modified corn starch.Characterization and investigation of the structure of the prepared samples by several analyses as nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Transmittance electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA/DTGA) techniques
