in this thesis activated carbon is Prepared from polystyrene as a rich carbonaceous raw material by activation with KOH using microwave with different impregnation ratios and different carbonization temperatures. Characterization of the prepared samples is applied by different techniques :Total moisture content-Total ash percent-Density-pH value-FTIR analysis-BET surface area And Elemental analysis. Study of the adsorption efficiency of the prepared materials on methylene blue as an organic pollutant and factors affecting the adsorption (initial concentration- contact time- agitation speed)
