The effect of non-uniformity of dimensions on the evaluation of seismic response modification factor for reinforced concrete frames / تاثير عدم انتظام الابعاد فى تقييم معامل تعديل الإستجابة الزلزالى فى الاطارات الخرسانيه المسلحه Manar Gamal Abdelrahman Mahmoud ; Supervised Walid A. Attia , Manar Maher Hussein - Cairo : Manar Gamal Abdelrahman Mahmoud , 2020 - 143 P. : charts ; 30cm
Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Civil Engineering
The main objective of the thesis is discussing the values of response modification factor (R) for ordinary reinforced concrete frames in the Egyptian Code of Practice ECP-201(2012).The studied frames were divided into 3 groups with non-uniform heights and lengths. Also, comparative study between the ECP-201(2012) and the current study. It was found that R factor decreases with increasing floor heights. In addition, increasing the non-uniformity of span lengths greatly effects on the value of the R factor. The listed values of R factor in the ECP-201(2012) are conservative values and can be increased
