| Summary, etc. | Retinoblastoma (Rb) is the most common intraocular tumor in childhood malignancies. The recurrence of retinoblastoma (RB) tumors is a serious concern during the early first few months following treatment which need a careful approach in a trial to preserve the eye globe and vision without risking patient’s life.<br/>This is a retrospective cohort study at CCHE in Egypt which studied patients with bilateral retinoblastoma who failed primary treatment between January 2011 and June 2018. Our study aimed to assess the ocular survival of eyes who failed treatment and the overall survival of those patients. We assessed the different prognostic factors related to the primary treatment and to the outcome including demographic data, tumor initial grouping according to ICRB, initial tumor characteristics and different line of treatment received. In our study, we had 105 patients and we included 184 eyes. Among these eyes we had 131 eyes who failed primary conservative treatment.<br/> |

| Summary, etc. | الورم الأرومي الشبكي هو الورم الأكثر شيوعًا داخل العين في الأورام الخبيثة في مرحلة الطفولة. يعد ارتداد الورم الأرومي الشبكي مصدر قلق خطير خلال الأشهر القليلة الأولى بعد العلاج والتي تحتاج إلى نهج دقيق للحفاظ على كرة العين والرؤية دون المخاطرة بحياة المريض.<br/>هذه دراسة جماعية بأثر رجعي في مستشفى اورام الأ طفال في مصر 57357 والتي درست المرضى الذين يعانون من الورم الأرومي الشبكي الثنائي الذين فشلوا في العلاج الأولي بين يناير 2011 ويونيو 2018. هدفت دراستنا إلى تقييم بقاء العين للعيون الذين فشلوا في العلاج والبقاء على قيد الحياة بشكل عام لهؤلاء المرضى. قمنا بتقييم العوامل الإنذارية المختلفة المتعلقة بالعلاج الأولي والنتيجة بما في ذلك البيانات الديموغرافية، والتصنيف الأولي للورم وفقًا للتصنيف الدولي للورم الأرومي الشبكي، وخصائص الورم الأولية وخطط العلاج المختلف الذي تم تلقيه. في دراستنا، كان لدينا 105 مرضى وأدرجنا 184 عينًا. من بين هذه العيون كان لدينا 131 عين فشلت في العلاج المحافظ الأول.<br/> |
