This study is randomized controlled, double blinded clinical trial, two parallel groups to assess the efficacy of Prophylactic intraligamentary injection of piroxicam versus Mepecaine for management of post-endodontic pain in posterior teeth.<br/>Twenty patients were diagnosed with irreversible pulpitis and symptomatic apical periodontitis in their mandibular posterior teeth, were included. Each patient had mandibular molar that experiencing pain on percussion, and selected from those attending or referred for root canal treatment to post-graduate clinic students in the Department of Endodontics, Faculty of Dentistry, Cairo University, Egypt. <br/>Patients are divided randomly into two groups each group contain ten patients:<br/>Each participant will complete the treatment in a single visit.<br/>In that visit the patient will be screened and approved by the assistant supervisor if eligible. Then the patient will be anaesthetized and then will be given an intraligamentary injection of Piroxicam or Mepecaine as a prophylactic medication, access shall be done, placing a rubber dam for isolation, then working length determination, cleaning and shaping, dryness of the canals, obturation and closing the access cavity using temporary filling.<br/>The patient is then asked to rate the intensity of pain pre-operatively and after 6, 12, 24 &48 hours after root canal treatment using a NRS and informing the investigator with the results.<br/>The results of the present study showed that<br/> |

هذه الدراسه تجربة اكلينكية بالانتقاء العشوائى الهدف منها مقارنة تــأثير الحقن المسبق للعلاج داخل اربطة السن باستخدام البيروكسيكام ضد الميبيكان للتحكم فى الالم المصاحب لعملية علاج الجذور فى الاسنان الخلفي <br/>تم تضمين عشرون مريضا تم تشخيصهم بالتهاب لب عكسي لا رجعه فيه في الاضراس الفك السفلي و كان المرضي يعانون من الام متوسطه الي شديده مع وجود الام مع العض و التهاب اللثه القمي العرضي , من المترددين او المحولين لعيادة الدراسات العليا قسم علاج الجذور , جامعه القاهره, مصر. <br/>تم تعيين مجموعتين عشوائيا كل مجموعه تتآلف من عشره مرضي :<br/>* العلاج سيتم في زياره واحده<br/>* سيتم تخدير المريض باستخدام التخدير الموضعي لكتله العصب , بعد الحصول علي التخدير العميق المجموعه التجريبيه سوف تتلقي الحقن داخل اربطه السن من 0.4 مل من 20 ملغ بيروكسيكام مل باستخدام حقنه عاليه الضغط , و مجموعه المقارنه سوف تتلقي الحقن داخل الاوعيع التكميليه من 0.4 مل من 2% مبيكاين<br/> |
