The study aims to determine the economic effects of corruption on the State of Cameroon since 1999, as well as the direction of those effects and the nature of their impact on economic growth. The study also aims to identify the phenomenon of corruption by identifying the concepts, types, factors of spread, causes and characteristics, the extent to which Cameroon can reduce the phenomenon, and what are the most important policies and actions that can be followed to combat the phenomenon of corruption in Cameroon.<br/>To achieve the objective, the study relied on the standard analysis tool through the use of ordinary little square (Ols) method, to measure the impact of corruption on Cameroon’s economic growth during the period 1999-2020, to ascertain the standard and statistical quality of the model results, as well as to determine the direction of the relationship between the dependent variable and the independent variables.<br/>The study was divided into four chapters, in addition to an introduction, a conclusion, an appendix of tables, a statistical appendix, and a list of references. where the first chapter dealt with the theoretical framework on corruption and its relationship to economic growth, This is through the first topic, which dealt with the literature related to corruption, such as the definition of corruption, its types, causes and characteristics. The second topic dealt with the presentation of the economic literature on the relationship between corruption and economic growth, the most important theoretical foundations for studying the relationship between corruption and economic growth and channels of impact transmission, and the presentation of the most important macroeconomic effects through the main channels through which corruption undermines economic growth.<br/>While the second chapter dealt with the analysis of the causes of corruption and its indicators in Cameroon through the first chapter, which dealt with the most prominent causes of corruption in Cameroon and their repercussions on the economy of the country under study, and the second chapter dealt with the analysis of the most important indicators of corruption in Cameroon, where the topic focused on the indicators concerned with measuring corruption and knowing the rank of the state of Cameroon In Transparency International’s classification of countries by As for the third chapter, it dealt with measuring the impact of corruption on economic growth in Cameroon, through the first section, which presented three standard studies that dealt with the impact of the phenomenon of corruption on economic growth, to choose one of the models to be conducted on Cameroon, and the second topic presented the data of the variables that were used in this The model and the extent of the change that occurred in these data in Cameroon since 1999, and the presentation of the results of measuring the impact of corruption on economic growth in Cameroon.<br/>The fourth chapter dealt with the efforts and challenges of combating corruption in Cameroon. The first section presented the efforts and mechanisms to combat corruption in Cameroon by presenting the national strategy and the mechanisms it has set to implement its objectives in the field of eliminating corruption. The second topic dealt with the obstacles and challenges that make the fight against corruption in Cameroon is a difficult matter, as well as the most important measures and reforms that must be carried out at the national and institutional levels in the fight against corruption, and finally the conclusion of the study, which presented the study’s findings and recommendations.<br/>. |
