| Summary, etc. | Regardless of the fact that numerous previously published studies dealt<br/>with various therapy approaches to treat patients suffering from Mechanical Neck<br/>Pain (MNP) and Forward Head Posture (FHP), its management still raises many<br/>controversies. The aim of this study was to investigate and examine the effects of<br/>Suboccipital Release (SOR) and Muscle Energy Technique (MET) to Suboccipital<br/>muscles on patients with MNP and FHP. Methods: Thirty-six patients with MNP<br/>and FHP aged from 20-40 years were divided into three groups randomly: Group A<br/>included 12 patients who received SOR and conventional physical therapy; their mean<br/>± SD age, weight, height and BMI were (26.66 ± 6.31) years, (68.58 ± 5.01) kg,<br/>(165.5 ± 7.41) cm and (25.16 ± 2.89) kg/m² respectively. Group B included 12<br/>patients who got both MET and conventional physical therapy; their age, weight,<br/>height and BMI were (27.91 ± 7.7) years, (67.58 ± 7.25) kg, (167 ± 6.67) cm and<br/>(24.21 ± 2.09) kg/m² respectively. Group C included 12 patients who received only<br/>conventional physical therapy (hot packs and kendel exercises) ; their age, weight,<br/>height and BMI were (27.83 ± 5.89) years, (66.16 ± 5.04) kg, (164.25 ± 6.63) cm and<br/>(24.63 ± 2.73) kg/m² respectively. For four weeks, interventions were carried out three<br/>times each week. Craniovertebral angle (CVA) was measured using surgimap<br/>software, neck functional ability was measured using the Neck Disability Index (NDI),<br/>pain intensity was measured using the Numeric Pain Rating Scale (NPRS) and cervical<br/>ROM was measured using the Smartphone Clinometer application for all participants<br/>before and after the treatment program. Results: Prior therapy, there was no obvious<br/>difference between the groups (p> 0.05). Post treatment comparisons demonstrated a<br/>significant improvement in NDI and NPRS in group B compared to groups A and C<br/>(p >0.05), and a significant decrease in NDI and NPRS in group A compared to<br/>group C (p >0.01). while there was no significant difference between groups in terms<br/>of ROM, and there was no difference between A and B groups in terms of CVA<br/>following treatment (p > 0.05). Conclusion: MET is more efficient than SOR and<br/>conventional therapy at reducing pain and functional impairment. Whereas, MET and<br/>SOR were equally effective in improving CVA and cervical ROM |

| Summary, etc. | على الرغم من أن العديد من الدراسات المنشورة سابقًا قد تناولت طرقًا علاجية مختلفة لعلاج المرضى الذين يعانون من آلام الرقبة الميكانيكية و وضعية الرأس الأمامية ، إلا أن طرق علاجها لا تزال تثير الكثير من الجدل. الهدف من الدراسة: أجريت هذه الدراسة لفحص ومقارنة تأثير الوضع الافراجي لعضلات تحت القذالي وتقنية طاقة العضلات لعضلات تحت القذالي على المرضى الذين يعانون من آلام الرقبة الميكانيكية و وضعية الرأس الأمامية فيما يتعلق بالتغيرات في زاوية العمود الفقري القحفي وشدة الألم ومدى حركة الرقبة وإعاقة الرقبة. الاشخاص والطرق: شارك ستة وثلاثون مريضًا يعانون من آلام ميكانيكية في الرقبة ووضعية رأس أمامية في هذه الدراسة تتراوح أعمارهم بين 20-40 عامًا ولديهم زاوية العمود الفقري القحفي اقل من 52 درجه، حيث تم تقسيم المرضي إلى ثلاث مجموعات متطابقة ، اثني عشر شخصا في كل مجموعه. المجموعة الأولى كانت المجموعة أ" الوضع الافراجي لعضلات تحت القذالي والعلاج الطبيعي التقليدي" كان متوسط العمر والوزن والطول ومؤشر كتلة الجسم لديهم ± (SD 26.66 ± 6.31) سنة و (68.58 ± 5.01) كجم و (165.5 ± 7.41) سم و (25.16 ± 2.89) كجم / م² على التوالي. ، المجموعة ب "تقنية طاقة العضلات والعلاج الطبيعي التقليدي" كان متوسط العمر والوزن والطول ومؤشر كتلة الجسم لديهم ± SD 27.91 ± 7.7 سنة ، (67.58 ± 7.25) كجم ، (167 ± 6.67) سم و (24.21 ± 2.09) كجم / م² على التوالي.المجموعة ج "العلاج الطبيعي التقليدي فقط" (الضمادة الساخنة والتمرينات العلاجية) كان متوسط العمر والوزن والطول ومؤشر كتلة الجسم لديهم (27.83 ± 5.89) سنة ، (66.16 ± 5.04) كجم ، (164.25 ± 6.63) سم و (24.63 ± 2.73) كجم / م² على التوالي. تم تحليل ومقارنة البيانات التي تم الحصول عليها من المجموعات الثلاث قبل العلاج وبعده فيما يتعلق زاوية العمود الفقري القحفي ، ومؤشر العجز في الرقبة ، ومقياس تصنيف الألم العددي و مدي حركه الرقبة. النتائج: لم يكن هناك فرق كبير بين المجموعات قبل العلاج.كشفت المقارنة بين المجموعات بعد العلاج عن تحسن كبير في مؤشر العجز في الرقبة، ومقياس تصنيف الألم العددي في المجموعة “ب” مقارنة مع المجموعة “أ”والمجموعة “ج”، وانخفاض ملحوظ في مؤشر العجز في الرقبة، ومقياس تصنيف الألم العددي للمجموعة "أ" مقارنة مع المجموعة “ج".بينما لم يكن هناك فرق ذو دلاله إحصائية في مدي حركه الرقبة بين المجموعات ، ولا يوجد فرق كبير بين المجموعة “أ”و “ب”فيما يتعلق بمعالجة زاوية العمود الفقري القحفي. الاستنتاج: تقنية طاقة العضلات لعضلات تحت القذالي أكثر فعالية في الحد من الألم و مؤشر العجز في الرقبة من الوضع الافراجي لعضلات تحت القذالي والعلاج التقليدي. بينما كلا منهما له نفس الفاعلية والقدرة علي تحسين زاوية العمود الفقري القحفي و مدي حركه الرقبة. |
