| Summary, etc. | This thesis deals with an evaluation of the performance of nanocoatings for the protection of composite archeological artifacts made of gold and silver. Deals with nanomaterial properties and their kinds, as well as different nano-coating types and their role in protecting the artifacts made of gold and silver. A case study for the winged scarab was done to assess the state of damage and its various causes using non-destructive, examination and analysis techniques. and the experimental study in the laboratory to evaluate the materials used in the conservation, with weight change, visual assessment, color change, and electrochemical tests. to choose the best one to be used in protecting gold and silver artifacts displayed in museums. Then a practical application on scarab. |
